Se-jin changes the story to say that they both liked each other, but all she really wants is to get a rise out of him and shake things up. Back then as teens, she broke off their relationship, remember? She didn’t like him. Tae-kyung blows a gasket and takes Se-jin outside to confront her. She even brags to Yeon-doo that, at one point, she and Tae-kyung liked each other. Se-jin is in a lousy mood and doesn’t hold back as the jilted-at-the-altar bride. Tae-kyung takes Yeon-doo’s hand in a “we’re a couple” move, and they get on. Then, when the elevator at NX Group opens, who should be inside but Se-jin. A little contact is required to be convincing, as Tae-kyung brushes her hair with his hand. But once again, they have to wing it when questions arise about their relationship. They have been invited to lunch with Chan-sik. Yeon-doo meets up with Tae-kyung at his office. They decide to turn it over to the ethics committee. Hyun-woo discusses it with Tae-kyung and another doctor it is similar to reproductive cell donation. “A child-bearing team without sex” is the idea. They introduce him to a newer parenting concept called co-parenting where two people agree to raise a child together, but are not a romantic couple themselves. Hyun-woo counsels with a couple about in vitro conception. On top of everything else, Se-jin is upset with her mother’s bad money habits. When word gets to Hwa-ja, she has to admit to Se-jin that her debt is large. The ajummas come to his rescue and fight off the thugs with brooms and mops. He rips the contract in half, and a struggle ensues. Jang-ho doesn’t want to be involved and feels uncomfortable in the first place for taking the gift from Grandmother. It is about the apartment contract that Grandmother has given Hwa-ja, who has given it to the loan sharks as a promise for the debt she owes. Principal Jang-ho is harassed by the loan sharks who hold debt payment over his wife, Hwa-ja. They realize that she now knows, and make her swear to secrecy with the threat that if anyone else finds out, they will blame her. Yeon-doo happens to hear Hyun-woo and Ji-myung discuss getting divorced. He hopes the wall that Grandmother has put up between her and Tae-kyung is starting to crumble with the shared memorial service. Chan-sik shares a drink with Tae-kyung and Hyun-woo after the memorial. In-ok likes it, because it represents that they got to become a “real” family because of the baby. Tae-kyung and Yeon-doo get out of the family overhearing that they’re not a real couple by saying the fetus’s nickname is Real. The Real Has Come! 진짜가 나타났다! K-drama recap ep 12
